My 2006 film of the year

After little contemplation and even less soul searching, I have come up with what I bill as the best film of 2006.

"Borat" (its short title) is filmed as a documentary and is actually a mockumentary. Its scenes play out in a candid format almost too perfectly, making it feel like it is scripted better than any movie of the sort could ever be with even the world's best writers penning the hilarity that takes up a little more than 90 minutes.

The lawsuits that followed the release tell me that it is definitely an unscripted film. Sacha Baren Cohen ('Da Ali G Show') plays the Kazakhstani reporter with such grace, it makes the movie much more believable.

The movie's real charm is in exposing the most racist among us and portraying stereotypes to a tee.

With so many memorable moments in the truly over the top and gloriously filthy movie, it will find a spot on everyone's top ten movie list this year.
