Back at ya'

After taking a week off from here, I am back. The extended weekend was spent in rural Minnesota at a lake which we have become familiar with over the past four years. Softball Guy's parents own a 'cabin' there and are generous enough to invite his friends to spend the weekend once and sometimes twice a year. This year's stay, however, was truncated due to circumstances of a family emergency with Electronics Tech Guy.

After arriving Friday afternoon, we launched the boat and tooled around for a while as a couple guys met their timely ejections from the tube as it skimmed across the eerily warm water. As it usually does with us, the day turned to refreshments of the alcoholic variety... early. This led to an ultimate Bocce ball tournament that lasted well past sunset and a night spent drinking more alcoholic beverages (to fend off dehydration, of course) and playing cards.

As it does sometimes, an idea is brought up and I have never known a bad idea in the company of my friends after a few beverages. An idea at 1 AM would never happen if you had brought it up twelve hours earlier. To leave something for the imagination and to be vague at the same time, a dock full of clothes at 1:30 AM looks hilarious, especially when viewed from in the warm water in the total darkness.

It's the type of night that will be talked about at least a couple years down the road and a nother memorable summer getaway for the books. Another side note, an all-meat diet does little to stave off the effects of a hangover and while we failed (miserably) to solve any of the world's problems, we had a fantastic time and I wouldn't have spent it any other way even though most of the weekend I spent drenched in my own sweat.
