Bush boosts military spending, slashes medicare

For a man with an obvious mathematical learning deficiency, Bush today proved himself by vowing to sink billions of dollars into more military spending just days after asking congress to approve more spending in Iraq while slashing billions from Medicare spending. This comes less than a week after the president spoke to the nation in his State of the Union address about the need for healthcare reform and making it more affordable to everyone but apparently we can just fend for ourselves while the healthcare companies soak up the cash from overpriced premiums and treatment costs.

Maybe this is a roundabout way to get there but something seems a bit off to me. How can we spend MORE on the nation's military when base closings were announced just last year which, in theory, should CUT costs not escalate them?

It's time for some serious answers as to just where our money is going.
