I can relate

Having flown on a commercial airline for the first time ever this past October, I know what the conditions are like. A flight doesn't take off for a distant destination unless it is full. Delays are common. They make you take your shoes off. The staff at the airport is as rude as a Bohemian man trying to return a bowl of soup. The food is just one level above that which you would find in a dumpster behind your local hospital. And you always live in fear of the airline losing your baggage.

Well, this opinion piece sure sums up my observations and the feelings of the thousands over the Christmas holiday who were separated from their luggage and the presents which were inside. What, indeed, did airlines do before computers and why has technology seemingly made bad situations worse?
