Two steps back

Today is Veteran's Day. A time set aside to honor America's veterans, regardless of what conflict they served in. A time to unite.

So, what better time to divide? Tonight on ABC, they will show 'Saving Private Ryan' uncut as they have two times previously on Veteran's Day. Only this year, 20 ABC affiliates who fear FCC fines in the wake of the Janet Jackson Tit-Gate scandal won't show the film.

This in a year when outlets refused to show 'Fahrenheit 9/11', a film portraying ROnald Reagan on CBS and the whole anti-Kerry piece on Sinclair Broadcasting stations.

What a bunch of spineless bastards. If it is a language issue, we face language just as coarse each day on over the air and cable television. It is a sad state of affairs when we take two stpes back as we head towards the future.
