Daily Show mocks, TRL rocks

Yep, in case your sorry ass has been under a moss-covered rock for the past 16 months, there's an election in the works. Sure, some will head to the polls on Tuesday to fill in arrows, mark X's, punch holes, touch screens, carve stone tablets, place colored stones into bags and various other forms of casting ballots. This also means that every TV channel or netowrk with the slightest hint of live personalities will be covering the country as the results trickle in later Tuesday night as polls begin to close.

NBC has a whole stable of gadgets from bar graphs (oooh, aaah) to e-lec-tronic maps that, get this, light up in either blue or red per state. Holy frickin crap, they had to shell out millions for such advanced gadgetry. Well MTV has something up their sleeves too, following their live countdown show, TRL, they will have reactions from school-aged viewers across the country. Another Viacom-owned channel, Comedy Central, has the Daily Show. We all know that host Jon Stewart and his cohorts will be busy interspersing actual results with satire and mockery on election night. He even has a list of terms to throw about just to keep viewers interested.

Here's what he has so far: Barnburner. Back in. Back out. Knuckle under. Bite the dust. Cave in. Cash your chips. More nervous than a long-tailed cat in a roomful of rocking chairs. The last one there is a rotten egg.

If I can get moving on my cable TV project (call cable company for HD service) I, too, will be able to watch Stewart mock the vote. Some comedy after all this strenuous mudslinging is just what the doctor ordered and I will likely be more nervous than a long-tailed cat in a roomful of rocking chairs as I await the results.
